NYT: ‘Climate change’ May Make Summer Vacation A Thing of the Past!
.
NYT warns of “scorching heat…fires, floods, tornadoes and hail storms”- August 5, 2023: “This year, everything from scorching heat to fires, floods, tornadoes and hail storms driven by climate change have disrupted the plans of travelers around the world. A summer getaway remains a powerful desire, but it’s at a tipping point…For decades, science has confirmed that unabated climate change will cause more misery, more hardship and cost millions of lives in the years to come. We’re getting a taste of the results this summer. Our relationship to travel has reached a tipping point. What happens when we can’t just vacation through it?”
Fox and Friends – Fox News Channel – Broadcast August 6, 2023
Morano: “This is the COVID PSYOP ending and the climate PSYOP beginning. This is the New York Times signaling that the ruling class is telling us that vacations are now a thing of the past. They’re trying to set our mindset to give up on vacations. And they’re giving up our freedom of movement…What the New York Times is claiming is that somehow people have to stay home, and it is literally in the article suggesting people need to huddle around their air conditioners at home because the weather is too extreme — because our previous travel has made the earth uninhabitable. this is insane, unscientific, silly.”

Extreme Weather Expert Pielke Jr. rips Wash Post claim of hottest ‘world record’ ocean temp – ‘No it is not a world record. It’s not even highest at that station in past 6 years’
Extreme Weather Expert Dr. Roger Pielke Jr.: “Science journalism is broken. No it is not a world record. It’s not even the highest at that station in the past 6 years. When did journalists and editors stop doing journalism and start turning incorrect but viral Tweets into headlines? Recipe for misinformation.”
Florida Meteorologist Jeff Berardelli told CNBC: “These buoys that are inside Florida Bay — so that’s to the north of the Florida Keys and to the South Florida peninsula — they’re all in very shallow, murky, dark water…it’s contaminated with sediment, the water temperatures are reflective of the fact that darker surfaces absorb more heat…“it’s not really comparable to most water measurements…“there are no official records that are kept on water temperature.”
Even though CNBC debunked the ‘hot tub’ ocean temperature claims, its sister organization MSNBC went full alarmist, ignoring CNBC reporting. See: MSNBC Warns of ‘Boiling Seas’ from Climate Change – MSNBC warned Monday of “boiling seas” due to climate change, citing ocean readings of 100ºF off the coast of Florida. Never shy about employing incendiary rhetoric, MSNBC seems to have forgotten that while the boiling point of water is 100º Celsius, it is actually 212º on the Fahrenheit scale.

Watch: Fox host Stuart Varney challenges Morano over heatwave-climate link
Fox Business – Varney & Co. – Broadcast July 19, 2023
Stuart Varney: Marc Morano from the Climate Depot joins me now. We just heard in Phoenix, they had 19 straight days above 110 degrees. Now, wait, you’re a climate skeptic, is this not the result of climate change?
Marc Morano: “This is not outside the normal bounds of hot summer weather. Yes, it’s a record year. It could be one of the hottest, but here’s the thing. Joe Biden’s EPA has a chart of the heatwave index going back to the 1930s. The 1930s are probably 8 to 10 or 12 times hotter in the United States than anything we’re currently seeing.
Morano: 75% of all state temperature records were broken before the 1950s — these records still stand. Now. This is a way that statistics — when you heard things like CNN or New York Times or others have said this is the ‘hottest’ in Earth’s history. Those claims were based on climate models, which even the NOAA –National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration — backed away from. They are weaponizing hot summers, heat waves to turn it into some kind of call for climate action. This is not outside the bounds of normal weather, I’m sorry.

Bjorn Lomborg: ‘Warming saves 166,000 lives each year:Heat deaths make up about 1% of global fatalities a year—almost 600,000 deaths—but cold kills eight times as many people, totaling 4.5 million deaths annually. As temperatures have risen since 2000, heat deaths have increased 0.21%, while cold deaths have dropped 0.51%. Today about 116,000 more people die from heat each year, but 283,000 fewer die from cold. Global warming now prevents more than 166,000 temperature-related fatalities annually.

Climate-Obsessed AP Blames Humanity for ‘Hellish’ ‘Summer of Earth’s Discontent’ – AP: When going through the litany of this summer’s weather extremes so far, University of Pennsylvania climate scientist Michael Mann had one question: “How on God’s Earth are we still burning fossil fuels after witnessing all this?” –
MRC analysis: Borenstein’s knee jerk reaction to wield any weather event to bellyache about the climate boogeyman is definitely on brand. After all, this was the same Borenstein who mindlessly touted the output of an unofficial climate model — not actually measured temperatures — to sensationalize in a July 6 headline how “[f]or third day, it was the hottest day on Earth, as global temperature matches record set Tuesday.” Borenstein and his co-author would later update their headline after it was clear they had egg on their faces: “Earth hit an unofficial record high temperature this week – and stayed there.” The authors inserted comments from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in their newly edited piece calling the output data “‘not suitable’ as substitutes for actual temperatures and climate records,” undercutting their initial premise entirely.
Climate Depot Founder Marc Morano slammed Borenstein for his ridiculous sensationalization in comments to MRC Business. “The AP is hyping every bad weather event it can find globally to fit their narrative,” Morano rebuked. “What they do not explain is that your chance of winning the lottery is very low, but the chance of someone, somewhere, winning the lottery is very high. So the activists essentially hype ‘lottery winners’ of extreme weather events and try to imply these events are increasing and happening everywhere.”

Marc Morano comments on global ‘boiling’ claims: “The climate establishment is now reduced to hyping NOT the hottest decade or the hottest year, but the hottest day! We have always been told that one record cold winter day is just ‘weather’, not climate. But when a heatwave serves the climate agenda purposes, we are told it was just what ‘scientists’ expected. They are weaponizing every weather event from a hot day to hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, and droughts.”
Here we go again. The claimed unprecedented ‘hottest day’ record was given an asterisk – but only after the unsupportable claim achieved its goal of weaponizing the weather in support of the climate agenda.
Morano on media & climate activists’ heatwave hysteria: “What is happening is very similar to how COVID ‘case counts’ were used to justify all sorts of government restrictions, from school closures to mask mandates to lockdowns during the peak of Covid. They pick a statistically arbitrary data point – ‘case counts’ during COVID — and average global temperature statistics in climate – – and widely overstate their significance to push policy positions they could never otherwise justify. As one epidemiologist said of using COVID ‘case counts’ to push mask mandates, “That is like tying masking to the phases of the moon.”
Pushing government climate regulations based on global average temperatures or a heatwave is just as unscientific. They get a hot summer and try to weaponize it with average global temperature statistics to scare people into submitting to more climate regulations.
Biden’s EPA shows the 1930s heat waves were much, much worse in the US than in recent times. We also know that many studies and data reveal that the Roman Warming Period and the Medieval Warm Period were as warm or warmer than today. Even the United Nations acknowledged that in their first climate report in 1990 before they later altered the data and erased the Medieval Warm Period.

Morano: “This is the media and climate activists engaging in the ‘casino effect.’ You walk into a casino and see a wall of slot machine winners. There’s a $10,000 winner, there’s a $100,000 winner — look, that person won $300,000. And you think to yourself, ‘I’ve got to play the slots; everyone’s winning.’ It gives you the impression that everywhere, they’re paying out huge sums, and you’ve got to play slots because you’ll be a winner too. Your chances of winning the lottery are very low. The chance of someone somewhere winning the lottery is very high.
So what they do with wildfires, and all extreme weather, is they highlight every single event to show you this is some kind of unprecedented record-breaking event and they package them all together to scare the public. You can always find a lottery winner, you can always find a slot machine winner, and the media uses those same tactics by presenting extreme weather events together on the nightly news and the corporate media, and they pretend as though it’s unprecedented extremes— But it’s not.
The media, the UN, hypes every bad weather event it can find globally to fit thier narrative. They do not explain that your chance of winning the lottery is very low, but the chance of someone, somewhere, winning the lottery is very high. So these climate activists essentially hype ‘lottery winners’ of extreme weather events and try to imply these events are increasing and happening everywhere. Lottery and casino ads do the same by showing all the winners and implying you are just one ticket or spin away from joining the lucky winners. Climate activists are trying to scare the public into believing that they are one bad weather event away from doom and only EPA and the UN Paris climate pact can save them!”
