Former NIH director Francis Collins’ new book seeks ‘pre-bunking’ opposing scientific claims – ‘Urges readers to immunize themselves against arguments skeptical of human-caused global warming’
John G. West – The Federalist: The propagandistic nature of Collins’ approach can be seen in his proposal for people to engage in “pre-bunking” claims so they “can avoid being taken in.” His call for skepticism sounds good — until he applies it. Fixating on climate change, Collins urges readers to immunize themselves against arguments skeptical of human-caused global warming. How? By imagining the selfish reasons that might motivate people to downplay global warming. For example, perhaps they “have a special interest in seeing continued use of fossil fuels,” or maybe they “wish to create as much disharmony within our population as possible,” or perhaps they are “politicians who see climate change denial as good for votes and campaign donations.”
According to Collins, you don’t have to consider the arguments being made if you have “pre-bunked” the motives of the people making them. Tellingly, Collins doesn’t suggest questioning the motives of those he agrees with on global warming. His “pre-bunking” is entirely one-sided. His goal is to shut down critical inquiry, not cultivate it.
President of UN climate summit: ‘At Cop29, we must treat the climate crisis with the same urgency as Covid – history shows it can be done’

To prevent the gravest human, ecological and economic toll, it is crucial to cut emissions before it’s too late. Without investing in adaptation measures that fortify nations against the impacts of climate-driven events such as hurricanes and droughts, widespread damage becomes inevitable. The greater the damage, the more it will cost countries to rebuild. Prevention is preferable to cure, but our planet is already ailing. Immediate action is crucial to halt further decline.
Not only is such funding necessary, it is possible. This has been done before: when struck with another crisis, Covid-19, advanced economies marshalled $8tn over the course of just 48 months to support their citizens and businesses. The challenge of the day was met. We must treat climate change with the same urgency.
Climate change driving ‘record threats to health’ claims ‘major report’ by Lancet released ‘just weeks before the UN COP29 talks are held in Azerbaijan’ – Report ‘painted a dire picture of death & delay’
https://www.yahoo.com/news/climate-change-driving-record-threats-000819483.html?guccounter=1 By Daniel Lawler Climate change poses a growing threat to human health in a variety of record-breaking ways, a major report said Wednesday, the experts warning that “wasted time has been paid in lives”. The new report was released as heatwaves, fires, hurricanes, droughts and floods have lashed the world during what is expected […]
Harvard to train ‘planetary healers’ – Professor Christopher Golden: ‘We see climate change as one of the most important existential threats that is affecting public health’ – Includes confronting ‘structural racism’

Brown U. to study climate change effect on old people — with federal grant of $3.8 million – Will study ‘effects of climate change’ on ‘aging populations’
The $3.8 million National Institute of Aging grant “will enable Brown researchers to study the negative health effects of climate change and develop practical solutions that promote healthy aging,” according to the announcement.

Physicist Dr. Ed Berry: ‘Climate change is NOT a public health issue’ – ‘Stop climate physics malpractice’

The belief that human CO2 emissions cause climate change has three hypotheses:
- (1) Our CO2 emissions cause the CO2 increase.
- (2) The CO2 increase causes temperature increase.
- (3) Temperature increase causes bad stuff to happen.
Climate alarmists ASSUME these three hypotheses are true, and incorrectly conclude that bad stuff proves their belief is true. Their logic is circular. Effects do NOT prove their cause.
The scientific method says it is impossible to prove a hypothesis is true, but only one false prediction proves a hypothesis is false.
It matters not if 99.99 percent of “scientists” claim a hypothesis is true. Votes don’t count in science. Proof that a hypothesis is false prevails over all claims that it is true.
Study in Lancet claiming ‘climate change associated with increased stroke morbidity & mortality’ is called ‘hilariously asinine’: Study lobbies for ‘urgent climate actions’ to reduce strokes

‘Hilariously Asinine’ – Debunking to the study by climate statistician Dr. Willaim M. Briggs: Scientists Induce Apoplexy (In Me) In Attempting To Tie Stroke To “Climate Change” – “The whole thing is hilariously asinine. They couldn’t help trying riding the ‘climate change’ gravy train. Models cramming everything, or near enough to everything, in to find correlations, which they insinuate are causes.”

Via TCTMD.org: The latest stroke update from the Global Burden of Disease, Injuries, and Risk Factors (GBD) study was published last week in the Lancet Neurology. In addition, the link between stroke and climate change-related factors—like ambient temperature and air pollution—appears to be getting stronger, lead author Valery Feigin, MD, PhD (National Institute for Stroke and Applied Neurosciences, Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand), and colleagues report. …
The updated data indicate that extreme high ambient temperatures are having a profound impact on stroke burden, adding to prior studies showing the importance also of extreme cold temperatures. “These findings are in line with research showing that rises in ambient temperature (including heat waves) and climate change are associated with increased stroke morbidity and mortality,” the authors write. “Because ambient air pollution is reciprocally associated with the ambient temperature and climate change, all of which synergistically influence cardiovascular disease (including stroke) occurrence and overall health, the importance of urgent climate actions and measures to reduce ambient air pollution cannot be overestimated.”
