For more than a decade, we’ve been inundated with a carefully crafted public relations campaign built around a simple slogan: #ExxonKnew. The accusation is familiar. Exxon supposedly understood the risks of anthropogenic climate change decades ago, concealed what it knew, and therefore bears responsibility for today’s climate damages.
