Who Needs Greenland?
Via Committee to Unleash Prosperity:
America has recently annexed some-one million square kilometers of resource-rich off-shore land and sea in the Arctic region. It is called the “Extended Continental Shelf” and the land area is roughly half the size of Alaska or two Californias! It’s the largest U.S. land acquisition (albeit a seashelf underwater) since the Alaska Purchase.
Why does it matter? Because geologists believe this underwater treasure chest has abundant energy and critical mineral resources.
The area includes the Arctic, the Bering Sea, the Mariana Islands and even regions down in the Gulf of Mexico. As Earth.com put it, “It’s like America just bought a new basement.”
