BBC reporter calls UN climate summit COP 27 agreement ‘crazy’ – ‘The language on cutting emissions is really disappointing’
BBC reporter in Sharm El-Sheik Eqypt: "The language on cutting emissions is really disappointing. It almost in parts mirrors -- it's like they've cut and pasted the Glasgow Agreement (UN climate summit) from last year, put it in their document, and then actually dialed it back a bit. So there is talk of 'low emission' energy sources. I have been asking everyone here what that is and the Norweigian Environment minister accepted that it could include gas. So this is an agreement that could allow natural gas, obviously, a fossil fuel, to be part of a green solution, which I have to say, does sound crazy."
