Astrophysicist Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson is Director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York and a widely known celebrity scientist.
He’s also a dyed-in-the-wool climate guy.
Dr. Tyson tweeted out what he thought was a safe homily about “settled science” until of all things, a frozen steak sandwich took him down.
Only to have his fallacy forcefully confronted by the sandwich meat Seak-umm!
the irony of neil’s tweet is that by framing science itself as “true” he’s influencing people to be more skeptical of it in a time of unprecedented misinformation. science is an ever refining process to find truth, not a dogma. no matter his intent, this message isn’t helpful https://t.co/sf4zLm33Jm

Twitter users loved it!
Steak-umm unleashed a torrent of good sense in support of open-minded, ever inquisitive, SCIENCE and Steak-umm rose to the challenge. Apparently Steak-umm has been out of patience with Tyson’s pompous recitations of the indefensible notion of “settled science” for years!
Steak-umm rallied the troops.
Steak-umm also revealed a pretty sharp understanding of the scientific method and scientific integrity (for a luncheon meat).
Head over to Twitter and let Steak-umm and Neil deGrasse Tyson know that you support open, fearless, data-driven scientific inquiry.
Then head out to the frozen foods section and support Steak-umm with the preparation of you choice. CFACT recommends a cheese, mushroom onion Philly steak bomb with sauteed salami for extra bombiness.
