Flashback 2018: World Health Organization: ‘Climate change is the greatest health challenge of the 21st century, and threatens all aspects of the society in which we live’

As the Covid-19 coronavirus response envelopes the world in April 2020, it is worth a look back to see what the World Health Organisation had to say about the risks civilzation faces.

2018 WHO report for the UN climate summit in Poland titled “Health and Climate Change.”

“Climate change is the greatest health challenge of the 21st century, and threatens all aspects of the society in which we live.”

The report was said to be: “This report is a contribution from the public health community to support the negotiations of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It was written at the request of the President of the 23rd Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP23), Prime Minister Bainimarama of Fiji, to the World Health Organization (WHO) to prepare a report on health and climate change, to be delivered at COP24.”
