Trump on his government’s climate warning: ‘I don’t believe it’

President Trump on Monday dismissed one of the major conclusions of his own administration’s comprehensive report on climate change.

“I’ve seen it. I’ve read some of it. And it’s fine,” he said.

But asked about the study’s conclusion that climate change would devastate the US and world economies if left unchecked, he declared, “I don’t believe it” as he left the White House for campaign stops in Mississippi.

The study, the Fourth National Climate Assessment, was compiled by 13 federal agencies and more than 300 leading climate scientists.

It concluded that climate change was man-made, and would have devastating effects on the world’s economy unless addressed soon.
