New paper finds another mechanism by which the Sun controls climate — Paper published today in The Holocene
Study 'reconstructs Mediterranean climate over the past 10,000 years and finds evidence for a Sun-climate connection including a ~900 year cycle. According to the authors, 'The ~900 yr periodicity has counterparts in numerous N. Atlantic and N. Hemisphere palaeoclimate records, and in solar irradiance proxies, and may relate to a Sun–climate connection during the early Holocene.'
The paper also finds a link to the N. Atlantic Oscillation, which in turn has been linked to solar activity.
