'The year 2013 has been a great year for global agriculture. Record world production of rice and healthy production of wheat and corn produced strong harvests across the world. These gains were achieved despite continuing predictions that world agricultural output is headed for a decline.'
March 17, 1922: 'WORLD’S GREATEST PROBLEM. Dr. Riedel conceived the idea of speeding up the growth of plants by giving them extra supplies of carbon dioxide...Tomatoes in the greenhouse supplied with gas weighed 175 per cent, more than in the other houses, and cucumbers show ed increase of 70 per cent.'
- 'Particulate aerosol pollution reductions...led to an increase in surface radiative forcing'
It has been assumed COVID lockdowns and their associated reductions in human CO2 emissions would be a “step in the right direction” with regard to climate change mitigation. But a new study finds the particulate (aerosol) pollution reductions from less industrial and transportation activity in Europe during the months of March to May (2020) actually led to an increase in surface radiative forcing ~65 times greater than from business-as-usual CO2 emissions.
