ClimateDepot.com executive editor Marc Morano discusses the left’s push for artificial intelligence regulation on ‘The Evening Edit.’
Broadcast September 16, 2026 – Fox Business – The Evening Edit
Fox anchor Ashley Webster asks Morano about dire false predictions in AI and Climate change:
Marc Morano: What they do — and this goes back centuries — is use fearmongering and doomsday predictions to actually get you to suspend rational thought and objective thinking, so you’ll act on emotion, and you’ll act on fear, and you’ll make poor policy choices or the choices they want you to make.
In the case of Al Gore, he also predicted a 10-year tipping point by which it’d be too late to save the planet. In addition, in my book Green Fraud, I found that in 1864—when Abraham Lincoln was president —they first warned of climatic catastrophe unless mankind changed its ways. See: Earth ‘serially doomed’: The official history of climate ‘Tipping Points’ began in 1864
But from COVID fear-mongering, from predictions of running out of oil in the 1970s, the U.S. Department of Energy warned we were running out of oil; experts have been wrong. The motivation is to make you suspend rational thought and make bad decisions that they want you to make.
Ashley Webster: We have to get back to Al Gore, and I make no apology. He was still pushing dire climate predictions back in 2023, if you can believe it. Listen to this.
Al Gore (Video Clip): This climate crisis is continuing to get much worse, and we don’t have time and start taking action. Our way of life, our very civilization is at stake.
Ashley Webster: Well, check out this recent headline as well. The Atlantic Ocean, it says, just broke a 60-year record for the longest hurricane-dry spell. Why aren’t the climate alarmists talking about this?
Marc Morano: They’re not talking about it because it doesn’t fit the narrative. What they do is highlight every bad storm anywhere on the planet the same way someone highlights a lottery winner, to make it look like everyone’s winning the lottery.
And they’re not going to talk about things like the record-low hurricane season; it’s historic, and the fact that Florida’s not half underwater, as Al Gore predicted. See: There have been no hurricanes in the Atlantic — Yet! Making 2026 the quietest since satellite tracking began in 1966
They’re not going to talk about the fact that they spent decades worrying about overpopulation and now they’ve suddenly flipped, and they’re warning of underpopulation in the next 50 years. See: Slate Mag on the new population problem — UNDERPOPULATION! ‘And in the long term—on the order of centuries—we could be looking at the literal extinction of humanity’
They have it all ways, both ways, any way that satisfies their agenda. And, again, the goal is fear.
The goal is to get you to suspend your normal way of thinking and go along with what they want. But to show you how badly Al Gore’s movement has failed, they set out with all these U.N. treaties, the Green New Deal, and carbon taxes to stop fossil fuel use, and now 81% of the world’s fuel comes from fossil fuels. That’s a 163% increase since the 1970s. See: Al Gore’s Global Warming Movement Has Officially FAILED! ‘Global Fossil Fuel Use Keeps Increasing’ – ‘Fossil fuels supplied 81% of world energy in 2024 – A 163% increase since 1971
And every U.N. climate summit sees an increase in CO2 emissions and fossil fuels. Even if you trust that they have the problem right, they have no idea how to solve the alleged climate crisis. Everything they’ve tried does the opposite of what they claim their solution will achieve. See: Spot The Effectiveness: UN climate summits vs. CO2 levels – 3 Decades of futile UN climate meetings HAVE NOT impacted CO2 levels — let alone the temperature

Ashley Webster: Exactly. And big countries like China are going to ignore all these warnings and regulations; they’ll just keep going merrily.
Marc Morano: Exactly.
Ashley Webster: Marc Morano, great stuff! Thank you for joining us.
Marc Morano: Thank you.
