Watch: Morano on Fox on some Republicans caving to climate agenda: ‘Every other GOP presidential nominee going back to George H.W. Bush, has pushed the climate narrative. From G. W. Bush to Mitt Romney, to McCain’ – Plus: China has been ‘faking green’

Fox Business Network – The Bottom Line – Broadcast June 6, 2025

There is no cost-benefit analysis of these green subsidies, expert reveals – ClimateDepot.com executive editor Marc Morano breaks down energy tax credits in America on ‘The Bottom Line.’

Marc Morano: It was one simple strategic move; they targeted many swing district competitive Republican congressional districts with massive pork from the original Inflation Reduction Act. I don’t think it was Biden himself — maybe it was the auto pen with the strategy — but it was a brilliant strategy. You have 13 house Republicans who don’t want the subsidies to go away and I’m sure there are sympathetic GOP Senators.

This has been going on for decades in the Republican Party. In fact, Donald Trump was the first GOP nominee to break from the idea of Republicans capitulating to the United Nations, net-zero, Green New Deal agenda. If you look back at every other GOP presidential nominee going back to George H.W. Bush, they have pushed the climate narrative. From George W. Bush to Mitt Romney, to McCain —  they also supported it. There’s the element in the Republican Party that doesn’t want to give up the pork and doesn’t want to give up what the lobbyists who are feeding them.

Morano on green subsidies & mandates: What doesn’t make sense about the whole IRA/Green New Deal bills is that all of the subsidies — there is no cost-benefit analysis. The only way green energy makes sense is with grift from the subsidies or for the lobbyists.  Solar and wind combined don’t even produce 3% of the total energy and combined don’t produce 14% of electricity generation despite all the money and the mandates and despite the green stimulus and the other restrictions on fossil fuels.

They still can’t make it work. But the Republicans — I’ve seen them show up at the UN climate conferences over the years — they show up and pander to the UN climate agenda. They want to be seen as ‘green’. It’s almost the pre-MAGA Republican Party called and they want the Republican members back. They can have them; they are not the future of the Republican Party.

The one thing Republicans and Democrats are equally susceptible to is graft, lobbying money, and donations.

Morano: China has been faking green for so long. Meanwhile, China has double the CO2 emissions of the U.S. China has a monopoly on rare earths required for ‘green’ energy and EVs. China is laughing — not only all the way to the bank, but to energy and national security dominance.
