Climate change has brought record-breaking heat this year, and with it extreme weather, from hurricanes to month-long droughts.

You will recall I complained about this BBC article, which failed to offer any evidence to back up its claim about climate change making extreme weather worse.

They have now responded. Most of their reply is based on weather attribution models. And at the end, they admit the truth behind their article:

The BBC’s article based on the report by the WWA and Climate Central is in line with these guidelines”

In short, they have not done any research themselves before publishing the nonsense. Instead they have simply repeated claims by Climate Central, who are by their own admission a lobby group whose focus is on “communicating climate science”, along with claims made by weather attribution computer models.

I will now be moving the complaint up to the ECU.
