The Just Stop Oil clowns who attacked the priceless Rokeby Venus painting in the National Gallery during an eco-stunt yesterday have shared selfies and a video ranting about climate change.
Harrison Donnelly and Hanan Ameur sparked fury by smashing the glass covering the painting in London.
The 17th Century painting by Spanish artist Diego Velazquez is the same work of art which was slashed by Canadian suffragette Mary Richardson with a butcher’s knife more than 100 years ago.
In selfie pictures uploaded to social media, Donnelly and Ameur pose for the camera – smiling and wearing casual clothing. In a short video uploaded to Just Stop Oil’s X page today, Donnelly raged about climate change and appeared to blame the Government for recent stormy weather.
Donnelly says: ‘Hello, I’m Harrison, I’m a student, and I’m taking action with Just Stop Oil today because I don’t see a future unless I stand up in civil disobedience against this genocidal Government.’
