CLUB FOR GROWTH PAC OPPOSES McCARTHY & ROMNEY LIBERAL CLIMATE REGULATIONS
Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh issued the following statement on the organization not endorsing any candidates that support the stifling liberal environmental taxes, regulations, and subsidies being proposed by a number of Republicans as opposed to free-market approaches.
“Club for Growth PAC will not endorse any candidate that supports the liberal environmental policies being pushed by Leader McCarthy and Senator Romney,” said David McIntosh, President of Club for Growth PAC. “Besides hurting our economy, these measures will not make a single environmentalist vote for a Republican and only alienate conservatives across the country. America’s economy is booming because of the tax cuts and deregulation under President Trump, and Republicans should consider free-market legislation to increase growth as opposed to trying to get the political support of green socialists.”
On Wednesday, February 12, Leader McCarthy, along with a number of moderate Republicans, planned to unveil regulations and subsidies that have no measurable effect on global climate but hurt the American economy. In 2019, Senator Mitt Romney, who voted to remove President Trump from office, announced he is open to supporting a carbon tax.
