As COP-23 Kicks Off, E&E Legal Releases Energy Poverty Video Calling on Pres. Trump to Withstand Pressures to Impose Devastating Results of Paris Climate Treaty

Washington, D.C. – Today, the Energy & Environment Legal Institute (E&E Legal) released a video calling on Pres. Trump to withstand pressures by global elites to impose the devastating “climate” policies, and reverse his pledge to withdraw from the Paris Climate Treaty, as the world’s global elitists kick off the United Nation’s Climate Change Conference in Bonn, Germany.  The video elaborates on the terrible human cost of these “climate” policies (with no actual projected impact on climate), which have already been foisted on Europeans, and which the United Nations wants Americans to impose on themselves, as well — while also calling on activists to use our courts to force it upon us seeing as how the proper democratic process has rejected their agenda.

President Trump, in a June 1st Rose Garden event, announced his intention to make good on a key campaign promise that the United States would withdraw from the Paris Climate Treaty and its demand for centralized energy rationing. He has faced intense lobbying ever since from politicians around the world, the domestic and international corporate media, multinational corporations, universities, think tanks, and numerous other external entities.  This campaign will enter something of a frenzy over the next two weeks as politicians, bureaucrats from the U.N., European Union, joined by corporations and media cheerleaders gather for the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s (IPCC’s) 23rd meeting of Committee of Parties (COP 23).

As the video points out, the Paris Treaty and its demands represent a meaningless gesture given that even supporters of the measure, like Obama’s former EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, conceded that U.S. policies in the name of Paris would have no measurable impact on the climate.  She evenacknowledged the snake-oil salesmanship behind the global salvationism  testifying that “This is not about pollution control”, instead, it’s “an investment opportunity”.

Ottmar Edenhofer, a recent co-chair of the U.N.s IPCC Working Group III, affirmed the scheme: “One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy…We redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy.”

What will not be addressed in Bonn is that this “investment opportunity” to, as President Obama repeatedly put it, “finally make renewable energy the profitable kind of energy in America”, has already devestated and even killed the most vulnerable in Europe.

In addition to providing unelected U.N. bureaucrats with a cruel weapon to redistribute sovereign nations’ wealth, another reason for these ‘climate policies’ is the tremendous amount of money it generates for governments, and ‘climate change’ investors like Al Gore and Tom Steyer.  A recent estimate pegs the worldwide ‘climate change’ industry at $1.5 billion, so there is a lot at stake when it comes to pushing this agenda.

“As the world’s rich and famous utilize a tremendous amount of energy to fly in from all over the world to push ‘climate policies,’ people must understand the reality of no climate impact, immense wealth transfers to the politically connected, and terrible human consequences as the price of admission to the elites’ game,” said Energy & Environment Legal Institute (E&E Legal) President Craig Richardson.  “Our video provides a look at the human costs of these policies – skyrocketing deaths in countries adopting this agenda from the inability of seniors and the poor to adequately heat their homes due to skyrocketing electricity costs as a direct result of these policies.”

As today’s video makes inescapable, this campaign to promote the environmentalists’ anti-energy agenda turns morality on its head, and the public needs to know what, it seems, many advisers are apparently unwilling to let on.  The evidence is clear and continued ignorance of the truth should no longer be tolerated.

“Green energy poverty in Europe, a disease now visiting our own shores, is devastating real people, and they are dying are a result,” noted Richardson.  “These are real, tangible individuals, not a bunch of hypothetical modeling that are continually proven wrong yet continue to drive these inhumane policies.”

Video Script

Following is the full text of the video:

President Obama signed a new global warming treaty on his way out the door, while insisting it wasn’t a treaty, because it stands no chance in Congress.  President Trump is now being pressured to go along with the illicit agreement.

Now, countries in the Europe, the model for these failed policies demand that President Trump impose these same harms on the United States.  The truth is these policies actually harm the most vulnerable among us.

The Energy & Environment Legal Institute wants you to know that in Europe, energy poverty is killing seniors and the poor by the tens of thousands.  Climate policies that no one actually claims will have any impact on the climate.

In Germany, electricity has become a ‘luxury good.’  800,000 homes are unable to pay their electric bills, it’s called the 2nd rent.  In England, electricity bills are expected to exceed mortgage payments soon.  In Ireland, a third of seniors are now forced to choose between heating and eating.  Book store owners report seniors now buying books to burn to keep warm.  Still, additional winter deaths are spiking as policy makers add more and more global warming regulations. In England and Whales alone, nearly 15,000 people died in one winter.

Unable to adequately heat their homes, an unjust disgrace that is the direct result of government policies.  Electricity shutoffs are increasing in the U.S., after years of EPA unilaterally imposing this energy rationing agenda.  No climate impact with terrible costs, particularly for our seniors and struggling families.  With U.S. electricity rates already skyrocketing, ask yourself, what is the right number of the most vulnerable to kill for no impact on our climate.

Tell President Trump, and tell the Senate, say no to this effort to bind the U.S. to a Treaty that promises policies that kill the most vulnerable…please.
