'Trenberth and colleague John Fasullo argue in a new scientific paper that the massive El Nino Pacific Ocean warming event that occurred in 1997 and 1998 triggered the pause. They say that the El Nino caused a large loss of heat from the deep ocean to the sea surface that resulted in a cooling of the oceans. Since then the deep ocean has been absorbing heat back from the upper ocean and so cooling the atmosphere.' # Climatologist Dr. Roger Pielke Sr. calls Trenberth's new ocean paper 'the end of surface temperature trends as the icon of global warming.' # Climate Depot Response to Trenberth study: But wait, which is it?! Though some warmists  have been blaming the oceans for the 'pause' in warming, ie. the oceans ate their global warming, here are a few of the other leading claims made the warmists to explain the 'pause': 1) Chinese coal caused the 'pause', 2) others say the Montreal Protocol caused the 'pause', 3) others say the 'pause' never existed and presto, they readjusted Arctic temperatures to alter past temperatures. Team warmist can't shoot straight! See: Say What?! After years trying to ‘explain away’ the flatline/pause/stanstill’ in global temperatures, warmists now readjust past temps to claim ‘pause’ never existed!

Real Science: Some of the leading explanations for the global warming pause from the team. We can’t account for the missing heat, and it is a travesty that we can’t. The heat all sank to the bottom of the ocean. The oceans are accumulating 400,000 atom bombs worth of heat per day. The pause is thanks to the Montreal Protocol in 1987, which reduced CFC’s – but warming will return soon. [Climate Depot add: In the proceedings of the National Academy of Science, there was a study blaming Chinese coal use for the lack of global warming. Global warming proponents claimed that coal use is saving us from dangerous global warming. Now Claim: There is no pause, the rate of warming has doubled Now, after adjusting past temperatures, warmists claim there never was a 'pause'. See: Presto!
