White House official cites ‘education problem’ on climate By Ben Geman
President Obama’s top science adviser said there’s a need to “educate” GOP climate change skeptics on Capitol Hill as the White House seeks to advance its green energy agenda. “It is an education problem. I think we have to educate them,” said John Holdren, who heads the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy. […] Holdren, asked about advancing Obama’s agenda in the face of [Congressional] skepticism, said the scientific evidence of dangerous human-induced climate change is powerful. “The science of climate change is really very clear in its essentials,” Holdren said on Platts Energy Week. Climate Depot Response: It is John Holdren who desperately needs remedial climate science education! Holdren has laid bare his scientific ignorance and alarmist ideology for all the world to see on multiple occasions over the past 40 years.
John Holdren in 2009: “…if you lose the summer sea ice, there are phenomena that could lead you not so very long thereafter to lose the winter sea ice as well. And if you lose that sea ice year round, it’s going to mean drastic climatic change all over the hemisphere.”
Yes, you heard that correctly, Holdren, with his wealth of “scientific” acumen, actually believes the Arctic is in danger of losing WINTER sea ice. The website Real Science noted about Holdren’s claims: “Temperatures are well below freezing across the Arctic now, and about -20C near Greenland. They will continue to get colder for the next few months. New ice is forming at the rate of one Manhattan every minute and a half, in areas that were previously ice free.”
Holdren has quite simply made a mockery of his PhD. It would be hard to find anyone less fit to “educate” people about climate science in Washington than John Holdren. It is sad to see an ideologically driven activist like Holdren posited as some sort of prestigious “science advisor” to the President of the United States.
Holdren, a Bitter Clinger
As the man-made global warming movement collapses scientifically, economically, and politically, Holdren is nothing more than a bitter clinger, hanging on to the last vestiges of yet another failed eco-scare. Holdren should try to first convince scientists that his fringe climate views are viable. John Lennon Makes Scientific Chump Out of Holdren
But it gets worse for Holdren and his alleged ability to “educate” anyone on science matters. Pity poor John Holdren. He was bested scientifically by none other than the late John Lennon in 1970s on the issue of overpopulation fears.

Fred Pearce in Eco-Mag. Grist in 2010: ‘The population bomb that I remember being scared by 40 years ago as a schoolkid is being defused fast’ — ‘Why don’t we hear more about it? Because it doesn’t fit the doomsday agenda…Half the world now has fewer than the ‘replacement level’ of children. Holdren was dead wrong on modern agriculture
Holdren’s understanding of climate science is proving to be similar to his knowledge of agriculture. The website Haunting The Library uncovered a key morsel about Holdren from 1970. Holdren told a reporter that the new crops being developed by [the late Nobel Prize winner] Dr. Norman Borlaug was a disaster, and not suitable for Africa and Asia: “We cannot use the same technological bludgeon on the underdeveloped countries that we have used on our own, seriously deteriorating our environment” said John P. Holdren of Stanford University. [End 1970 article excerpt]
Renowned agricultural scientist Norman Borlaug, known as the father of the “Green Revolution” for saving over a billion people from starvation by utilizing pioneering high yield farming techniques, is one of only five people in history who has been awarded a Nobel Peace Prize, the Presidential Medal of Freedom ,and the Congressional Gold Medal. Borlaug, who died in 2009, was also a man-made global warming skeptic.
Holdren has been repeatedly and spectacularly wrong in areas where he was alleged to be an “expert.” Holdren thought he knew better than Borlaug in 1970. Amazingly, Holdren thinks he understands climate science in 2011. It is puzzling that Holdren has not chosen to go in hiding out of sheer embarrassment for his massive scientific failings.

Holdren Finally Gets A Prediction Correct

Doomsday Cult Duo
Holdren’s association with overpopulation doomsday cult leader Paul Ehlrich proved to be the most humorous and entertaining spectacle. Holdren and Ehlrich at times have morphed into utilizing nothing short of doomsday cult rhetoric. Very scary stuff — if you take either man serious. But the good news is that if you view both men as nothing more than a circus sideshow, you can sit back and have a good laugh. Please, read on…
