Climate Depot's Morano comments: George Soros is the founder and the chair of the Open Society Foundations. The new Union of Concerned Scientists president is Johanna Chao Kreilick, who managed the Open Society Foundations’ strategy unit and she founded the $43 million Climate Action Initiative.

Why is this so important? The Union of Concerned Scientists essentially oversaw the U.S. federal government's National Climate Assessment in 2017. The extreme catastrophic climate scenarios used in the 2017 National Climate Assessment report read like a press release from environmental pressure groups — because it was! Two key authors were long-time Union of Concerned Scientist activists, Donald Wuebbles and Katharine Hayhoe.

Fast forward to 2021 and the new head of the Union of Concerned Scientists comes fresh from left-wing activist George Soros' foundation. It is amazing how easy it is to purchase climate policy based on discredited extreme climate scenarios in the United States of America. We don't face a 'climate emergency', but we do face left-wing climate activists running U.S. government science reports and policy."

Mariana Mazzucato warns that shutdown may be needed unless we 'do capitalism differently' ... “Under a ‘climate lockdown,’ governments would limit private-vehicle use, ban consumption of red meat, and impose extreme energy-saving measures, while fossil-fuel companies would have to stop drilling,” she said. “To avoid such a scenario, we must overhaul our economic structures and do capitalism differently.” ...

Prof. Mazzucato's article appeared on Project Syndicate, billed as “the world’s opinion page” and funded by, among others, billionaires Bill Gates and George Soros.

Her website says her research has been funded by the Ford Foundation, the Institute for New Economic Thinking, and Mr. Soros’s philanthropy, the Open Society Foundations.

Morano: “When COVID came along and the entire world went into a grip of fear and immediately started locking down, everything the climate activists had been demanding almost happened almost overnight,” Climate Depot’s Marc Morano said in an email. “In short, the COVID lockdown is a trial run for the climate lockdown.” .... They are not letting a crisis go to waste,” said Mr. Morano, who released last week the film “Climate Hustle 2.” “They’re calling for a socialist great reset against capitalism. They’re going to try to morph climate and COVID together and you’re going to go from a COVID lockdown to a climate lockdown.”

Soros & Gates Funded: Now Project Syndicate (PS), a group both Soros and fellow liberal billionaire Bill Gates fund, is peddling a tyrannical proposal. Specifically, the group is pushing an eco-extremist idea that the world may need a “climate lockdown” to preempt climate change unless we have a “green economic transformation.” ...

Tracking PS’s funding explained the tyrannical radicalism. Three groups within Soros’s Open Society Network ($1,242,105), along with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation ($5,280,186), have given PS at least $6,522,291 between 2012-2019.

“The Los Angeles Times is really ramping up the fake news factor with this Rockefeller and Soros funded ‘article’ seeking to blame global warming for the 1989 Exxon Valdez,” said Marc Morano, publisher of the skeptics’ website Climate Depot.
