Climate Depot founder Marc Morano sounded off to the MRC about Friedman’s nonsense. Morano said Friedman’s article should be headlined, “‘How to Defeat U.S. Energy and Do Nothing to Save the Planet.'” ... Morano tore into Friedman’s “national security” argument and said he “misses the entire point.”
“[T]he U.S. is perfectly capable of plentiful domestic energy production if our industries are not hamstrung over 'climate change' concerns,” Morano said in a Twitter message. “The greatest national security threat we face is the energy policies advocated by Friedman.” Milloy said the “solar and wind” tools are exactly “the same failed technologies that caused the Green New Deal War [in Ukraine] in the first place. No thanks, Tom.”
- Media hypes Antarctic ice shelf collapsing & alleged record warm temps – Reality Check: ‘Mass Gains of Antarctic Ice Sheet Greater than Losses’
Tony Heller: "Climate experts say glacial ice in East Antarctica has been stable throughout human history until a heatwave last week." ... "This occurs all the time...Eight years ago (2014), climate experts got trapped by icebergs calving off of ice shelves in East Antarctica." ... "So according to climate experts, history began after the year 2014 and the melting point of ice is now -12C. Icebergs break off East Antarctica regularly."

“The calving will not directly affect sea level, because the ice shelf was already floating, much like an ice cube in a glass of water,” Dr. Galton-Fenzi said.
Scientists Find Antarctica Is Rapidly Cooling And Any Ice Sheet Melt Is Not Due To CO2, But Natural - In a review of the scientific literature, Lüning et al. 2019 report Antarctica as a whole has undergone a cooling trend in recent decades.
Evidence That Antarctica Is Cooling, Not Warming
- Meteorologist Watts: Claims of ‘unprecedented’ high temps in Arctic & Antarctic are NOT based on actual temperature reading but ‘a model simulation’ from ‘a single day weather event’
Meteorologist Anthony Watts: Claims the "Arctic and Antarctic, had experienced 'unprecedented' high temperatures...can’t be verified since they were the results from a set of weather model simulations, indicating variations of above-normal temperatures for the regions, not actual surface temperatures measured by ground-based weather stations."
The claims of record hight temps include this disclaimer: "Simulation of temperature differences from normal centered over Antarctica from the American (GFS) model."
Watts: "That’s right, it isn’t temperature that actually measured at the surface of that forlorn icecap, it’s a model simulation of temperature from a single climate model, the GFS model...We don’t have actual weather data in many places at the North and South poles...The weather data we do have may be compromised or intermittent due to harsh weather conditions affecting ground-based weather stations."
"Compared to larger 100+ years of climate data for the globe, we have maybe 40 years of data for the poles at best...Yet, somehow, climate scientists are “alarmed” and “flabbergasted” at a single day weather event simulated from a computer model." ... "Model simulations simply aren’t evidence."
- 2021 State Of The Climate Report: It was not a good year for the climate narrative
Heller: "This past year was a disaster for them scientifically – but based on polling they were highly successful with their propaganda."
2021 climate facts: According to the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colorado, Arctic sea ice extent finished the year at the highest level since 2003.
Arctic sea ice extent is about the same as it was in 1991. ... There has been no trend in Arctic sea ice extent for the past fifteen years.
Antarctica’s coldest six months on record and second coldest winter
US forest fire burn acreage was well below average and down 80% since the 1930s.
The US is getting wetter and droughts have become less severe and frequent.
Island nations have been getting larger, not disappearing as predicted.

Climatologist Dr. Judith Curry: ‘The UN IPCC Reports have become ‘bumper sticker’ climate science’ – Report lobbies for ‘politically manufactured consensus’
Curry: " The IPCC Reports have become 'bumper sticker' climate science – making a political statement while using the overall reputation of science to give authority to a politically manufactured consensus." ... "The IPCC has strayed far from its chartered role of assessing the scientific literature in support of policy making. The entire framing of the IPCC Reports is now around the mitigation of climate change through emissions reductions. Not only has the IPCC increasingly taken on a stance of explicit political advocacy, but it is misleading policy makers by its continued emphasis on extreme climate outcomes driven by the implausible extreme emissions scenarios." ...
"The most important finding of the past 5 years is that the extreme emissions scenarios RCP8.5 and SSP5-8.5, commonly referred to as 'business-as-usual' scenarios, are now widely recognized as implausible. These extreme scenarios have been dropped by UN Conference of the Parties to the UN Climate Agreement. However, the new Synthesis Report continues to emphasize these extreme scenarios, while this important finding is buried in a footnote: “Very high emission scenarios have become less likely but cannot be ruled out.”

Great Water Reset: The UN & WEF are coming for your water now! ‘Sustainable development’ water dictates – Aim to ‘achieve internationally agreed water-related goals’
Cheryl K. Chumley: The United Nations plans to protect water that’s used for bathing; water that’s used for developments; water that’s home to sea life; water that’s used for transportation. So the up-and-coming controls would likely focus on residential limits to water usage, and costly increases to access that water; on bans on agricultural usage, and costly increases on farmers; on strict controls on the types and numbers of ships that can sail the seas and rivers and channels, and costly increases for this form of transportation. ... as with carbon offsets, the U.N. water czars will demand trades of activities to offset the supposed pollution of the waterways.
So much for jet skiing. So much for fishing on the weekends with the family. It’ll be too expensive — and regulated.
“Natural resources crises, including for water and food, come within the top 10 biggest risks facing humanity in the coming decade,” the World Economic Forum wrote. ... “[A]s global warming continues to take effect, ordinary weather is becoming a thing of the past, exacerbating our water crisis,” the World Economic Forum wrote.

Lawyers Seek To Add Stock Of Lawyer Jokes By Demanding Oil Companies Be Prosecuted For Homicide
So if using oil is murder—and it has to be murder and not manslaughter, for our authors know of what they do—then lawyer Donald Braman and “public citizen” David Arkush are murderers. Perhaps they’ll turn themselves in? If it isn’t ink, it’s the gas they put in their cars, or the fuel in the planes in which they fly, or in heating or cooling their home, or running the electricity to pay for their Netflix accounts, or in manufacturing the clothes they wear, or in the plastic which surrounds them in their own homes, or in growing the food they eat. There is no way these sad individuals can remove the charge of hypocrisy, or escape the logic of their own argument. ...
If this “lethal harm”, caused by use of oil, is indeed “unparalleled in human history”, then our authors, who knowingly participate in this lethal harm, damn themselves. None of this can, or must, be taken seriously. The charge is absurd. It is asinine. It can only be the result of, as I said, lowly greed, or worse, profound stupidity and irresponsibility.
