Watch: Morano on Fox & Friends: Biden admin’s EV push will ‘make us more dependent on China’ & will create ‘car shortages’ – ‘You will go nowhere & be happy’

Fox and Friends – Fox News Channel – Broadcast April 17, 2023

Biden’s electric car push will create vehicle shortage, expert warns – ClimateDepot.com publisher Marc Morano reacts to Biden’s energy secretary claiming the solution to rising gas prices is to ‘electrify transportation.’

Excerpts: Morano: CBS News reported that it’s more expensive in many places now to recharge an electric car vs. fueling a gas for powered car in parts of the U.S. and in Europe. In Germany, half the population can’t even afford a gas-powered car. The Biden Administration’s EPA is trying to statutorily ban gas-powered cars. It is literally trying to create car shortages. We will have less freedom of movement. You will go nowhere and be happy. …

Their green energy policy is the greatest national security threat the U.S. faces. It will make us more dependent on China,

Here’s the kicker, there are reports China has passed the U.S. and South Korea as the world’s leading exporter of cars. Chinese-made cars are heading to the number one exporter in the world. One of the few things America could boast of was American automobiles, and we are now possibly ceding that to Chinese exports. …

EVs have to be charged on a fossil fuel grid. We are not saving the earth.

Fox and Friends Todd Piro: You can find Marc’s book titled, The Great Reset: Global Elites and the Permanent Lockdown. You can find it on Amazon.com.

Background:

Axios: Why the U.S. can’t build EVs without China – The Biden administration’s effort to spur domestic battery manufacturing is running into a problem: Some critical raw materials are only found abroad, and China controls much of the supply. Why it matters: The provenance of raw materials used in electric vehicle (EV) production — including lithium, nickel, cobalt and graphite — is about to have a huge impact on tax credits designed to put such cars within reach of average Americans. … Reality check: Many of the minerals essential to EV battery chemistries are primarily mined and processed in China, or by companies within China’s sphere of influence. …

Reality check: Many of the minerals essential to EV battery chemistries are primarily mined and processed in China, or by companies within China’s sphere of influence.

  • China is poised to control a third of the world’s lithium supply by 2025, for example.
  • It’s also home to one of the world’s largest natural battery graphite resources, and is the only country currently mining such material in large quantities.
  • While lithium and some other battery minerals exist in the U.S., developing mines is an expensive, time-consuming process.

What they’re saying: “Hardworking Americans should not be forced to subsidize Chinese companies that make batteries for electric vehicles that cost more than most people make in a year,” Rubio said in a statement.
