Global Warming
In June U.S. District Judge William Alsup dismissed several nuisance lawsuits against BP Plc, Exxon Mobil Corp. and Chevron Corp. filed by California environmental activists claiming they are responsible for climate change. Not willing to accept defeat and wanting to burn taxpayer money, on Wednesday the liberals who run the attorney general’s office in the “People’s Socialist Republic of New York” sued Exxon Mobil for fraud claiming that the company hid the potential impact of climate change from its investors.

Like the case dismissed in June, this NY suit is also nuisance suit, climate change is a natural phenomenon. The only reason it’s called climate change is that it stopped warming. To keep the climate fear-mongering alive (and so the chicken littles would not have to admit they were wrong) the term global warming was retired—hence climate change.

Truth be told, the Earth hasn’t warmed in twenty years. In other words, the last time the Earth “warmed” a steroid-enhanced Mark McGuire broke Roger Maris’ single-season home run record, Tom Hanks was “Saving Private Ryan,” Britney Spears released her debut single, “Baby One More Time”, and we were just learning that Bubba Clinton wasted a prime Cuban cigar in the oval office.

Yes, the climate is changing. It has been changing since the cloud of gas solidified into the planet earth 4.54 billion years ago. It has nothing to do with man or CO2. Today CO2 levels in the atmosphere are higher than they have been in recent history, certainly higher than any time since the industrial revolution. But during the medieval warming period 800-1400 C.E. it was hotter than it is today even though CO2 levels were much lower than they are today.

The warnings about CO2 levels are approximately thirteen thousand years late. Around 12,750 years ago, long before big cars, coal plants, and former VP Al Gore’s significant investment in global warming-related products, CO2 levels were higher than today. Actually during some past ice ages levels were up to 20x today’s levels. And think about it, of the hypothesis of CO2 raising global temperatures was correct, how could we have an ice age when CO2 levels were 20x higher than today?

I know! Perhaps Mother Nature is computer-phobic, and she just won’t look at climate computer models to understand what she should do. Either that or the liberals pushing the warming hypothesis are not really worried about saving the world from a non-existent climate disaster.

Don’t take my word for it. Believe what Ottmar Edenhofer a former co-chair of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said in 2010 :

But one must say clearly that we redistribute de facto the world’s wealth by climate policy. Obviously, the owners of coal and oil will not be enthusiastic about this. One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate policy is environmental policy. This has almost nothing to do with environmental policy anymore, with problems such as deforestation or the ozone hole.

And the liberals in the New York Attorney General’s office are wasting money the state doesn’t have to sue Exxon Mobile over a problem that doesn’t exist. Isn’t liberalism wonderful?
