Apparently the Gulf Coast is having its first hurricane ever. It’s not? Then why is Twitter lighting up with statements that imply that is exactly what is happening.

“I feel sorry for those in Texas & LA who will suffer when #Harvey strikes,” says one tweet. “Even the idiot #Trump fans who will still deny climate change.”

Another says that “Harvey looks” so bad that “the Gulf Coast, along with California, may be the place where the GOP finally cracks on climate change.”

Still another: “Climate change deniers — eat this!  Sincerely, Harvey.”

Take a look at a few more Twitter comments that have been helpfully collected by the Pirate’s Cove. It’s a batch of baloney. A carnival of virtue-signaling. An exhibition of anger toward the nonconformists.

These people do realize, don’t they, that Texas and the Gulf Coast have had hurricanes before, many, probably most, of them long predating man’s fossil-fuel energy era? Yet this hurricane has to be human-caused — because they say so.
