Michael Bloomberg has urged companies to explain more clearly how climate change affects them as a way of attracting investors and staff.
The billionaire media owner and former New York mayor heads a new task force which aims to improve the standard of climate change reporting and his comments add to the pressure on companies to better explain the impact of environmental changes. Last week Larry Fink, chief executive of BlackRock, said in a letter to chief executives that generating sustainable returns over time required a sharper focus on environmental and social factors.
