16-year-old climate activist @GretaThunberg says she “has nothing to say” to people who don’t believe in climate change – including President Trump. There is no time to waste, there is no planet B.
Greta Thunberg: “Many people think that climate change is an opinion. But it’s not an opinion it’s a fact. You can’t say. I don’t think that the heart is pumping blood. I don’t think so. Scientists often talk about tipping points. And that means that once we passed a certain point, that means that the earth starts warming itself.
Question: And we cannot stop it. It sets in motion, so we can’t control?
Greta nods.
Question: Do we still have time?
Greta: “Yes, we do. We still have time. That time will not last long. So we need to do something. Now we need to do it quickly.
No one is too small to make a difference. You can everyone can do something. If everyone does something, then huge differences can can happen.
Question: And those people out there to some degree, this could be Mr. Donald Trump, the US president, there are many people out there still say either climate change does not exist. Or if it doesn’t exist, it’s nothing to do with human activity. What do you say to those people?
Greta: I don’t say anything to those people. I usually ignore them. Because I have nothing to say to them. And they have nothing to say to me. If I was to talk to someone like that, I would I would just continue to refer to the science and say that many people think that climate change is an opinion. But it’s not an opinion. It’s a fact you can’t say I don’t think that the heart is pumping blood. I don’t think so.
