This is as close a Climate Alarmist will ever come to admitting defeat as you will ever find. Climate Alarmists will never admit they were wrong, they will just twist the truth to fit their Climate Alarmism False Narrative. Progressives are simply too vested in the Big Lie.

Faced with ongoing catastrophic fires, and the certainty that they will only worsen in the future, California finally demonstrates some common sense. Without admitting that they were wrong, and actually the cause of the conditions that have resulted in the catastrophic fire threat, California Governor Jerry Brown has relaxed logging restrictions “to mitigate climate change fire risk.” Somehow CO2 prevented California from thinning our their forests and maintaining healthy and safe conditions.

Timber industry officials say the changes are needed to cut red tape and increase incentives for landowners, particularly in the Sierra Nevada, to thin pine and fir forests that have become dangerously overgrown after 100 years of fire fighting.

“I’ve heard the climate change argument back and forth,” Zinke told Sacramento-based KCRA. “This has nothing to do with climate change. This has to do with active forest management.”

Many of California’s forests are overgrown, some areas with 10 times the number of trees than the space can support. Historically, wildfires were a staple through the California landscape, popping up about every decade and burning through excess fuel while leaving the oldest, healthiest trees to continue growing, The Mercury News reports.

In recent decades, fire suppression has taken priority over active land management, allowing fuel to build up. Now, when a fire does start, it can quickly build to an inferno consuming plentiful fuel and devastating even the oldest, most fire-resistant trees.

In my opinion there is no doubt of a direct connection between senseless environmental obstructionism perpetrated by radical greens, and the unnecessary deaths of people caught in fires made worse because of that green obstructionism.

Regardless of whether climate change is contributing to California’s fires, improved forest management will mitigate the risk. If there is no timber or vegetation to burn, there can be no fire.

  • Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke lambasted “environmental terrorists groups that have not allowed public access, that refuse to allow harvest of timber.”

  • Environmentalists use litigation to keep federal agencies from thinning forests, clearing debris or allowing logging.

  • Activists want to blame global warming for wildfires, but experts say the relationship between climate and fires is complicated

Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke spent the last week targeting environmental groups that have for years opposed activities, like logging and thinning, to reduce the risks of catastrophic wildfires on federal lands.

The former Montana congressman blamed “litigation from radical environmentalists who would rather see forests and communities burn than see a logger in the woods,” in a USA Today op-ed published Wednesday.

Zinke also called out “extreme environmentalists” in an interview with KCRA that aired Sunday. The day before that, Zinke lambasted “environmental terrorists groups that have not allowed public access, that refuse to allow harvest of timber” in an interview with Breitbart Radio.
